Mary Darothy Mancini

Mary Darothy Mancini, 87, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, of congestive heart failure at Bayfront Health Port Charlotte, after a brief illness.

Mary was born Jan. 19, 1927 in Muncy, PA.

Her beloved husband, Vito “Bill” Mancini, died on July 4, 2010, two days before his 87th birthday.

Bill was always at Mary’s side at virtually every one of her singing engagements, of which there were thousands.

Along with her sisters, Marion and Ruth Alice, Mary began singing with her father’s band (the Tironie Family) when she was ten.

After moving to Florida in 1986, Mary worked with various musical groups for about two decades. Mary’s vocal talents added considerably to many other musical groups throughout southwest Florida.

Mary and Bill are sadly missed by their four children, Adrienne (Dave) Smith, Mary Mancini, James and Patrice (Elton) Latsha; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
