F. Lucille Hill
F. Lucille Hill, 89, of Route 405 Highway, Hughesville, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing where she had resided since March 23, 2012.
Born July 5, 1924, near Watsontown, she was the daughter of the late Walter R. and Mildred E. (Remley) Gresh. She was married to Fleming H. Hill for 47 years until his death May 14, 1997.
She was a graduate of Watsontown High School, and served as a Nurse in the United States Navy during WWII. She retired as a Lieutenant from the State Correctional Institute, Muncy where she had worked many years and earlier in life was a nurse at Muncy Valley Hospital.
She was a member of the American Legion, Hughesville, and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Turbotville. She enjoyed bowling.
Surviving are a son, Michael F. Hill of Hughesville; two grandchildren: Jennifer M. Maris and her husband Jay of Muncy and Michael Hill of Hughesville; two great-grandchildren, Nickolas and Ashlyn Maris; and a brother, Donald R. Gresh of Watsontown.
Preceding her in death besides her husband were a brother, William W. Gresh, Sr.; and two sisters, Betty D. Andreacci and Barbara R. McArthur.
Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, 39 Paradise Street, Turbotville, where a memorial service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Erwin C. Roux, her pastor, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville.
