E. June Hill Cooper, 83, of Williamsport, passed away March 20, 2014. Born on April 28, 1930, in Montgomery, to Mary Elizabeth and Nelson Hill, June grew up in Williamsport and lived there until 2012, when she moved to California to be closer to her daughter, Elizabeth Cooper Candelario.

June graduated from Williamsport High School in 1948 and went on to receive her nursing degree from Temple University. While working as a nurse at Temple University Hospital, June met her future husband of 59 years, Dr. Kenneth Lanterman Cooper. After they married, they resided in Philadelphia while Kenneth completed his residency. When his schooling was through, Kenneth and June moved to Williamsport, where Kenneth opened his medical practice and served as a physician for 37 years.

A celebration of her life will be held in Williamsport in June, details of which will be published in this newspaper soon. Donations in her name may be made to the James V. Brown Children’s Library. All donations will be matched by the family.
