James B. “Jim” Parsons Jr.
James B. “Jim” Parsons Jr., 69, of 2313 Route 220 Highway, Pennsdale, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born July 14, 1944, in Muncy, he was the son of the late James B. Sr. and Estella Mabel (McMichael) Parsons. On Feb. 6, 1965, he married the former, Dorothy J. Dauberman, who survives. Together they celebrated 49 years of marriage.
Jim attended Muncy High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during Vietnam.
He later retired in 2012 after 40 years working for the Local 520, Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Harrisburg.
Jim was a member of the American Legion, Eugene Grafius Post 104, Montoursville, the Edward J. Smith Post No. 3428, V.F.W., Muncy, Loyalsock Sportsman’s Club and the Pennsdale Fire Company. He was also a life member of the NRA and North American Hunting Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, James B. III and Ann Parsons, of Airville and Jeffrey L. Parsons, of Mifflintown; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and Eddie Bitler, of Millville and Jeannie and Don Bitler, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Megan, Rebecca, James IV, Danielle, Cody and Paige Parsons; and one great-grandson, Jaxon Tyre.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son in infancy, Timothy Parsons.
Friends were received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
Services were held privately at the convenience of the family.
