John H. ‘Raven’ Phillips
John H. “Raven” Phillips, 67, of Hughesville, went home to be with the Lord on the day of the Lord’s resurrection, Sunday, April 20, 2014, at his home.
Born Aug. 14, 1946, in Williamsport he was the son of Franklin J. and Mary Jane (Knight) Phillips. John and his wife Lorraine (Lose) Phillips would have celebrated their 34 years of marriage in August.
John was an Army Vietnam War veteran. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and devoted his life to the Lord. He was a people person and enjoyed helping others. John worked for Kennedy King Manor as a maintenance worker and was employed as a truck driver. He was known as “Raven” or “Bird” on the CB Radio.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Lorraine Phillips, of Hughesville are his five daughters, Kimberly Wilson, of Harrisburg, Teresa Harris, of South Williamsport, Lisa Wilt, of Jersey Shore, and twins Kelly (Thomas) Ritter, of Jersey Shore and Shelly Wilton, of Woolrich; brothers, Franklin J. (Maria) Phillips, of Muncy, Gene (Ann) Phillips, of Hughesville, Paul (Jill) Phillips, of Muncy, David (Janet) Phillips, of Shamokin; sister, Dawn Phillips of Williamsport; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 911 W. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701, with Pastor Joel Long officiating. Visitation was 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Graveside service was held 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 25 at Montoursville Cemetery.
