Patricia Ann Benoit

Patricia Ann “Pat” Benoit, 67, of Hughesville, died Monday, April 28, 2014, at her home. She was born Oct. 13, 1946, in Muncy, a daughter of the late Charles William and Delphene Elizabeth Rider Weaver. She was married to Daniel Benoit, who survives.

Pat owned and operated Helping Hands Cleaning Service from 1992 through March of 2014. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Muncy Valley Moose, Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post 35, Hughesville and ABATE of PA, Bald Eagle Mt. 32 (Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education). Pat had a passion for cleaning, bike runs, working in her yard, gardening, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending family functions.

In addition to her husband of 37 years, Pat is survived by four children, Pamela Ann (Frank) Garaas, of Williston, N.D. and Paula Annette (Fred) Biichle, of Hughesville, David (Donna) Merrick Jr., of Corning, Ark. and William “Scott” (Sue) Merrick, of Hughesville; a brother, Elwood (Vivian) Weaver, of Raleigh, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, Patricia (Scott) Olsen, April Sheehan, Kenton Becker, Paul Alrick Best, Daniel Patrick (Rei) Best, Amanda Rashel (Shawn) Fry, Gage Lane and Christopher Lee Snuffer; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, by Pastor Harold Heddings.
