Roberta A. Gruver

Roberta A. Gruver, 88, formerly of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

Born in Montgomery, on Sunday, October 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Raymond O. and Beatrice (Bartlett) Wolf.

Roberta was the widow of John M. Gruver who preceded her in death on April 27, 1968.

She was a 1943 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School.

Roberta was employed in the ball fringe department of the former Montgomery Mills for 20 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, and enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles.

Roberta is survived by two children, Linda and James Bower, Montgomery; Ronald W. Gruver, of Fla; four grandchildren, Jill Miller, Jaime Ambrose, John Gruver, Ron Gruver; and three great-grandchildren, Sophie, Cole and Emily.

She was preceded in death by one brother Eugene S. Wolf.

Graveside funeral services were conducted in the Fairview Cemetery, 1706 Cemetery Road, Montgomery, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014, with Virginia Bailey, her pastor, officiating.

In keeping with Roberta’s wishes, there was no visitation. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 41 West Houston Avenue, Montgomery, PA 17752.
