David L. “Lorie” Miller

David L. “Lorie” Miller, 69, of Muncy, died Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 30, 1944, in Williamsport, a son of the late William C. and Olive Ruth (Parsons) Miller. March 5, 1965, he married Marian L. Anderson, who survives.

Dave owned and operated Dave Miller Construction for over 20 years. He loved spending time at his cabin and with his family.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by a son, David L. (Kelly) Miller Jr.; four daughters, Tammy L. (Steve) Miller Welty, of Williamsport, Lori A. (Thomas) Rogers, Lisa M. (Rod) Smith, Misty L. (Butch) Jacobs, all of Muncy; 13 grandchildren, Justin Fiester, Brandon Rogers, Bradley Beaver, Tyler, Trey and Kendra Smith, Amanda Shoemaker, Preston Shoemaker, Brittany Jacobs, C.J. Jacobs, Amy Jacobs, Dylan Miller and Summer Miller; and a brother William A. Miller, of Muncy.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by two grandsons, Shawn Fiester and Thomas Rogers; a sister, Roxanne Fenstermacher; and two brothers, Carl E. “Cob” and Danny Miller.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. last Thursday in the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, by the Rev. Steven Smith. The interment was in the Picture Rocks Cemetery. The family received friends in the funeral home Thursday from 10 a.m. till the time of service.
