Geraldine M. “Peggy” Clementoni

Geraldine M. “Peggy” Clementoni, 86, of Hughesville, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, with her family and friends by her side.

Born October 6, 1927, in Benton, she was a daughter of the late Jacob F. and Rhea Fritz Minier.

Her husband of 58 years, Armond W. Clementoni Sr., preceded her in death on June 30, 2007.

Peggy was a member of the Red Hats and a Bunco group. She enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner and spending time with family and friends. Peggy also had a love for polka music; in fact she and her husband could be seen regularly on Polka Time, which aired on Channel 44 on Saturday evenings.

Surviving are a daughter, JoAnn Hedricks, of Hughesville; a son, Armond Clementoni Jr., of Harrisburg; two sisters, Doris Ditzler and Pauline Ridall; three grandchildren, Tricia (Don) Yetter, Michelle Yurko and Scott Clementoni; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Yetter, Juliana Yurko and Mason Yurko.

In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by a grandson, Tommy Hedricks; three brothers, James, Arthur J. and Harold Minier; and two sisters, Martha Lord and Christine Henderson.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Pastor Dan Cale officiating. Burial followed in Cherry Grove Cemetery. Friends called from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
