Dorothy Flowers Dodge

Dorothy Flowers Dodge, 83, of Muncy, died Friday, May 30, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospice, Bethlehem.
Born Feb. 12, 1931, in Springfield, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Dorothy (Cullen) Flowers. On April 9, 1952, she married Merrill Johnson Dodge, who survives. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Dorothy was a graduate of Classical High School, Springfield, Mass., and attended the University of New Hampshire. She was employed by Realty Seven in Wilton, Conn., where she worked as realtor/appraiser, having obtained her GRI designation.
Dorothy worked the hardest at being the “family engineer.” She held many titles, such as gourmet chef and superb hostess, gardener, expert seamstress, family and farm accountant, remodeler and creator of the Cousins Convention. Dorothy loved the arts and nature and in her spare time enjoyed knitting and reading.
Surviving in addition to her husband, of Muncy, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Eric Dodge, of Houston, Texas and Merrill “Jim” and Lauren Dodge, of Jefferson, Mass.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Martha Dodge, of Bethlehem, Sara Dodge and Keith Stiger, of Muncy and Lucinda Dodge Rodgers, of Muncy; one brother, James Flowers, of Canton, Ohio; one sister, Margaret Norwood, of Wayland, Mass.; and ten grandchildren, Taylor Byrne Dodge, Ginger Reed, Jack Rodgers, Katie Dodge, Christopher Dodge, Patrick Rodgers, Sam Byrne Dodge, Gregory Dodge Converse, Matthew Dodge and Olivia Dodge.
Friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.
