Max A. “Mike” Yeagle
Max A. “Mike” Yeagle, 75, of 398 McNett Road., Montgomery, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his home.
He was born February 19, 1939, in White Deer Valley, the son of the late Arthur W. and Elizabeth A. (Drick) Yeagle.
On September 24, 1960 he married the former Anna Jean Waltman, who survives. Together they celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Mike attended a one room school house in Elimsport through eighth grade before graduating from Montgomery High School in 1957.
After high school, he worked five years for F.N. Marquardt Line Construction. Mike later owned and operated Waltman’s Meats for 43 years. He also owned the Northwood Motel, Montgomery for 17 years.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church, Montgomery.
Mike was a member of the Muncy Lodge No. 299, F&AM and Williamsport Consistory. He was also an avid hunter and belonged to several hunting camps.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, William W. and Karen L. Yeagle, of Montgomery; one daughter and son-in-law, Dori L. and Dale A. Ludwig, of Grantville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Judy C. McCormick, of Jersey Shore, Diane G. and Louis O’Neil, of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren, Michael D. Ludwig, Cameron W. Yeagle and Nathan W. Yeagle; and a cousin whom he was raised with, Harold F. “Bud” Drick.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother-in-law, William McCormick.
Friends were received from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, at St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery where the funeral was held at 1 p.m. with his pastor, Rev. Viking Dietrich, officiating.
Burial followed in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
