Ruth Houseknecht Letteer

Ruth Houseknecht Letteer, 86, of 400 Broad St., Montoursville, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Sycamore Manor, Williamsport.

Born January 7, 1928 in Milton, she was a daughter of the late Earl D. and Mildred D. Houseknecht. She married James Letteer, who preceded her in death in 1978.

Ruth was a 1946 graduate of Muncy High School. She worked at GTE Sylvania, Montoursville, for 38 years, retiring in 1989 when the plant closed.

Ruth was a lifetime member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Clarkstown.

She was a faithful volunteer at Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport.

Surviving is a sister, Lona J. McConnell, of Muncy.

Ruth will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Friends were received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2041 St. Rt. 442 Highway, Muncy, where the funeral was held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Beverly D. Cotner, officiating.

Burial followed in Muncy Cemetery.

The family provided the flowers, and suggests memorial contributions be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 2041 St. Rt. 442 Highway, Muncy, PA 17756.
