Betty Jane Young

Betty Jane Young, 90, formerly of Hillside School Rd., Allenwood, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville.

Born May 30, 1924 in Montoursville, she was a daughter of the late John and Florence (Neff) Koch. She married Kenneth D. Young. Together they celebrated 65 years of marriage before his death August 26, 2006.

Betty enjoyed taking care of her home, attending auctions and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a beloved sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Scott A. Young, of Williamsport, Doreen A. Knouse, of Montoursville and Jason Young; a brother and sister-in-law, John “Jack” and Dora Koch, of Muncy; four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Kenneth C. Young and a sister, Genevieve Reidy.

A graveside service was held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the Elimsport Cemetery, Rt. 44, Elimsport.

The family provided the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association Greater PA Chapter, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.

The family was assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
