David F. Day
David F. Day, 81, of 1183 E. Lime Bluff Road, Muncy, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Muncy Valley Hospital. He was born May 25, 1933, in Trout Run, a son of David H. and Carrie C. Knarr Day.
He and his wife, Shirley E. (Reigle) Day, were married Dec. 10, 1953. David was a graduate of South Williamsport High School, the Williamsport Area Community College and Architectural Blueprint Reading thru International Correspondence School. He worked for Jacob Gehron Construction Co. for 16 years and retired as construction manager and vice president of the Sutter Corp., Berwick.
He was a member of Pennsdale Trinity United Methodist Church, Ivy Lodge 397 F&A.M., Valley of Williamsport Consistory, the L.O.O.M. Muncy Valley Lodge 866 and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Kenneth D. (Tina) Day, of Montgomery; three daughters, Debbie L. Fern, of Watsontown, Tammy M. (Randy) Carey, of Montoursville and Karen A. Day, of Pennsdale; a brother, John A. Day, of Williamsport; sister, Ruth Ann Bigelow, of Nisbet; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his aunt Laura Knarr; and many nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, his twin brother, Harold W., Floyd L., Donald R. and Charles Day; and a son-in-law, Douglas Fern.
The funeral service was held June 11 at 10 a.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St. Montoursville, with the Rev. Rob Ranson officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either his church, 658 Village Road, Pennsdale, PA 17756, or to the charity of your choice.
