Hazel L. Bartlett
Hazel L. Bartlett, 99, formerly of Montgomery, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation Center where she had resided since May of 2013.
Born Sept. 8, 1914, in Mazeppa, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lottie (Hackenberg) Stover. She was married to Ralph A. Bartlett until his death in 1995.
Hazel had worked at the former Montgomery Mills and was a member of the Clinton Baptist Church, Montgomery.
She loved sending cards to her family and friends and enjoyed reading and doing word-find puzzles. She cherished times spent with her family.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nancy L. Fisher, of Montgomery, Judy M. and her husband, William “Jack” Marshall, of Watsontown and Sherry C. and her husband, O. Michael Wright, of Montgomery; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Glenn Stover, of Oceanside, Calif.; and two sisters-in-law, Eunice Stover, of Picture Rocks, and Edith St. James, of Montgomery.
Preceding her in death besides her husband were a daughter, Virginia Wertz; two grandchildren, Cory Marshall and Lori Wertz; five brothers, Ralph, Miles, Charles, Merlyn, and Robert Stover; and two sisters, Helen Stover, who died in infancy, and Gladys Breidinger.
Family and friends were invited to call from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 21, at the Clinton Baptist Church, 19 W. Houston Ave., Montgomery, where the funeral service was held at noon with the Rev. David Jacobs, her pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Hazel’s memory be made to her church.
