Stephen E. Cox
Stephen E. Cox, 73, of Muncy, died at his residence on June 17, 2014.
He was born on March 23, 1941, in Fergus Falls, Minn., the son of Jack and Doris Snellman Cox.
Steve retired from IBM after 29 years and had previously worked with N.J. Bell, Dyco, and Debolt, Itec. He served in the U.S. Army in the Army Security Agency- Menwith Hill in Harrogate, England. He was a member of NRA, was a Boy Scout leader, and was active with 4-H Clubs. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage and his children called him “Mr. Fix-it.” He loved road trips and always found the longer, but more scenic way to go. His family will miss the love and advice he offered them.
Preceding him were his parents; a brother, Cortland; and a sister, Jackie Fisher.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Judith A. Cox; a son, Christopher (Kristin) Cox and their children, Hope Cox and Derek Polay, all of State College; two daughters, Michele Cox, of Danville and Margaret Cox, of Pittsburgh; a brother, David (Barbara) Cox, of Newton, N.J.; two sisters Ruby (Gene) Murphy, of Melbourne, Fla. and Debbie Cox, of Hewit, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service and burial was at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Steve’s memory be made to his favorite charities, The Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or Gary Sinise Foundation, P.O. Box 50008, Studio City, CA 91614-5001.
Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
