Louise K. Hicks

Louise K. Hicks, 77, of Wilmington, N.C., died on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center.

She was born on Aug. 19, 1936, in Williamsport, the daughter of the late Paul D. and Minnie Tanner Werner. Also remembered is her husband, Richard Charles Hicks and a brother, Delmar Werner, both of who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hicks graduated from Muncy High School in 1954 and Geisinger Nursing School in 1957. She lived in South Glens Falls, N.Y., from 1966-1995 and was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where she served on the Alter Guild and Women’s Guild. She worked as an RN at Glens Falls Hospital from 1967 to 1995 in CCU, ICU, Head Nurse of 4 Central, before retiring as a Nurse Manager.

Upon retiring in 1995 to Ocala, Fla., she became a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, serving on the Alter Guild and being active in the Parish Nurses and Crafty Ladies.

Funeral services were held June 25, 2014, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Ocala, Fla. The family received friends at the church. Interment followed in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
