Jacob W. Lambert Jr.

Jacob W. Lambert Jr., 88, a resident of Muncy, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014, in The Gatehouse at Williamsport.

Born in Williamsport, on Thursday, May 6, 1926, he was the son of the late Jacob and Mable (Lammerhirt) Lambert Sr.

Jake was the widower of Mary A. (Stetts) Lambert, who preceded him in death on April 29, 2013.

He honorably served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Jake was a member of the Church of the Resurrection at Muncy. He was a very kind and caring person, not only to his family but also to his friends and other members of the community.

He is survived by two daughters Kathryn M. Akers, of Muncy and Claire Lambert, of Muncy; one son, John Lambert, of Sparks, Nev; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Jake was preceded in death by his son, David A. Lambert, who passed away on Dec. 17, 2010; two brothers, Richard and Gary Lambert; and two sisters, Lorraine Sones and Colleen Hilkert.

Services for Jake and his devoted wife, Mary, will be conducted at a later date with service arrangements to be announced at that time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Anthony’s Center, 125 Willow St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, PA 17756.
