Arley J. Puderbach

Arley J. Puderbach, 93, of Picture Rocks, died Aug. 4, 2014, at her daughter’s home. She was born July 16, 1921, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Elmer J. and Hazel V. (Yarrison) Hill. June 21, 1941, she married the late L. Morgan Puderbach, who died May 8, 1987.

Arley was a member of the Picture Rocks United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer of the Fellowship Class and as the church membership secretary. She graduated from Williamsport High School, Class of 1939, and had worked through the years at the former Williamsport Wholesale Grocery as a bookkeeper and in the Dietary Department of the Muncy Valley Hospital. Arley was a member of the Micah Shrine, Picture Rocks Bocce League, Eastern Star, Rebekahs, Picture Rocks Senior Citizens and the Hughesville Garden Club. She enjoyed travelling and reading. One of the highlights of her life was a trip to Hawaii with her family at the age of 87.

Arley is survived by two daughters, Gail Eakin, of Picture Rocks and JoAn (Bob) Easton, of Hughesville; seven grandchildren, Philip, Gregory, Karen, Lori, Marc, Michael and Christopher; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Shaible, of Madera, Calif.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Eakin; four brothers, Donald Hill, Walter “Jesse” Hill, Glenn Hill and Lee Hill; and a sister, Jean Hill.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy, by Pastor Richard DeMarte.
