Mary Marvene Fogelman

Aug 12, 2014

Mary Marvene Fogelman, 94, formerly of rural Watsontown, went to her heavenly home on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, surrounded by her family.

Born Feb. 20, 1920, in Montgomery, she was the daughter of the late Raymond H. and Mary (Claudefelter) Hain. She shared 61 years of marriage with Thomas W. Fogelman Sr. until his death on April 29, 1999.

A homemaker all her married life, she cherished times with her family. She loved spending time with family at the river, listening to country and gospel music and supporting her grandsons in racing. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds around her home and for the past eight years she enjoyed winters in Florida with her family.

Mary Marvene was of Lutheran faith. Her great-great-granddaughter, Liz O’Clair, helped care for her during the past two years.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley R. Braim Edwards and her husband Ken, of rural Turbotville, with whom she lived for the past seven years; Caryl A. Reynolds, of Watsontown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas W. Jr. and June Fogelman and Walter G. and Darlene Fogelman, all of Watsontown.

She is also survived by her loving caregiver, Melanie Werni, and her feline companion “Missy” for the past 14 years.

Preceding her in death beside her husband and parents were a grandson, Frederick “Ricky” Neitz Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Lesli Warren; a stepgrandson, Larue Fenstermaker; a sister, Melva Gault, and son-in-law Herman Braim.

Friends were invited to call from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, where the funeral service was held at noon with the Rev. Steven Middernacht of Zion Lutheran Church, Turbotville officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery, Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Zion Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 277, Turbotville, PA 17772.
