Stanley C. Foust Sr.

Stanley C. Foust Sr., 78, of Hughesville, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at The Gatehouse.

Born June 17, 1936, in Hughesville, he was a son of the late Jasper and Norma Craft Foust. His wife, the former Shirley Louise Vandine, preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 1978.

Stanley retired in 1998 from the former Sprout-Waldron, Muncy, after having worked there for 32 years. He was a member of Muncy Lodge No. 299, F.&A.M., Muncy Valley Moose, Quarter Century Club and a social member of 40 et 8 Highland Lake.

Stanley loved the outdoors and had a passion for farming. He enjoyed cutting firewood, hunting, fishing and riding his four-wheeler.

Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly L. Foust, of Colorado and Kathy L. Foust, of Hughesville; two sons, Stanley C. Foust Jr., of Colorado and Steven J. (Jennifer) Foust, of Hughesville; and two grandchildren, Hunter Foust and Lauren Foust.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 13, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Pastor Jerry Uplink officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
