Rev. Alton R. Johnson

Rev. Alton R. Johnson, 99, of Hughesville, died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the Muncy Valley Hospital. He was born April 16, 1915, in Philadelphia, a son of the late Lawrence and Kathryn (Farrel) Johnson. Oct. 1, 1939, he married the late Mary Berkey, who died in 1984.

Alton was preceded in death by a daughter, Lana M. Johnson; a brother, Lawrence Johnson Jr.; and two sisters, Blanche Farrell and Rejessa Hanf.

A memorial service was be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, in the Grace Baptist Church, 5471 Clarkstown Road, Muncy, by the Rev. Charles Tefteller. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.mccartythomas.com.
