Kathryn C. LaForme

Kathryn C. LaForme, 87, a resident of Montgomery, passed away on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, in the Watsontown Health & Rehab Center. Born in Muncy, Lycoming County, on Thursday, May 5, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Olive (Seid) Barto.

Katie was the widow of Richard W. LaForme who preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2000.

She was a 1945 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School. Katie was employed by the former Montgomery Mills and was later employed by the Montgomery High School in the cafeteria.

She was a member of the St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church at Montgomery. Katie enjoyed knitting and camping.

Katie is survived by four children, Ray and Deborah LaForme, of Montgomery, Jay and Jeanette LaForme, of Allenwood, Wayne E. and Ann LaForme, of Montgomery, Linda K. and Dale Grimm, of Montgomery and one sister, Helen Kreppeneck, of Montgomery. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Katie was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were conducted from the St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery at 12 Noon on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, with the Rev. Viking E. Dietrich, her pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Muncy Cemetery. Friends called on Tuesday from 11 to 12 Noon at the church.
