Laura A. Hill

Laura A. Hill, 104, of Linden, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at her home.

Born May 24, 1910, in Hughesville, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Jenny (Smith) Wilson.

Laura was employed at a local silk mill and later the Women’s Club, where she worked in the kitchen and cleaned. Laura enjoyed playing the organ, sewing and traveling.

Surviving is a daughter, Joanne Shearer, of Muncy; a son, Marvin (Sarah) Hill, of Linden; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Hill in 1992; two sons, Donald Murray and Ronald Hill; a sister, Ocie Hampton; and four brothers, Bert, Harry, Thomas, and Dick Wilson.

A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial was at Montoursville Cemetery, Montoursville. Visitation was 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sanders.
