Marian E. West

Marian E. West, 96, of Hughesville died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at the Valley View Nursing Center. She was born Jan. 15, 1918, in Penn Township, Lycoming County, a daughter of the late Chalmer and Bertha Reese Poust. She married the late Harold G. West.

Marian was a member of the St. Mark’s Church of Lairdsville. Earlier in life she had worked at the former Montgomery Mills. Marian enjoyed bingo, needlework, crafts and bus trips.

She is survived by two daughters, Dora (Stephen) Bogle, of Muncy and Linda (Colin) McNeil, of Montoursville; son, Glenwood West, of Ashland, Ky.; son-in-law, Donald Stouse, of West Salem, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Mike (Sherry) Strouse, Steve (Michelle) Strouse, Mark (Shelly) Strouse, Amy (Sherman) Crayton, Tammy (Mike) Siegfried, Jason (Sherry) Bogle and Jenny (Nate) Johnson; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Ralph Poust, of Muncy; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Marian’s husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Strouse; two grandsons, Gregory McNeil and Tony West; great-granddaughter, Sadie McNeil; and three brothers, Dela, Paul and Clyde Poust.
