Evelyn I. Bryan

Evelyn I. Bryan, 87, of Picture Rocks, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at the Susquehanna Health Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Unit at Muncy Valley Hospital.

Born Jan. 22, 1927, in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Martha M. Hess McCarty. Her husband of 62 years, Ira T. Bryan, preceded her in death on July 14, 2011.

Evelyn was a graduate of Picture Rocks High School, Class of 1945. She was a long time member of Picture Rocks Baptist Church, the D.A.R. and enjoyed water color painting, family genealogy and volunteering.

Surviving are two daughters, Jan (Christopher) Davis, of Bloomsburg and Judith (Thomas) Gordner, of Muncy; a sister, Maryemma Londis, of York; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Bryan, of Montgomery; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by a son, Steven Bryan and a sister, Doris Hartinger.

A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Picture Rocks Baptist Church, 50 Elm St., Picture Rocks, with Pastor Jerry Uppling officiating. Burial followed in Picture Rocks Cemetery. Friends called from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
