Kathleen I. “Kit” Walters
Kathleen I. “Kit” Walters, 91, of Wolf Run Village and formerly of Picture Rocks, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at the Susquehanna Health Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Unit at Muncy Valley Hospital.
Born Sept. 7, 1922, in Danville, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Catherine Ann Phillips Buck. Her husband of 69 years, Howard M. Walters, preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 2008.
Kit was employed at Muncy Valley Hospital as an LPN for over 30 years. She was a member of Picture Rocks United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school in earlier years. Kit enjoyed reading, watching ballroom dancing and her violets. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving, are a daughter, Marian Kay (Dan) Moore, of Picture Rocks; a son, Ronald H. (Mary) Walters, of Hughesville; a sister, Lois Harris, of Muncy; a daughter-in-law, Betty Mathias, of Watsontown; seven grandchildren, Rhonda Rhoades, Wayne Walters, Nevilee Sue Williams, Cheryl Stropko, J. Chad Moore, Howard C. Walters and Scott Walters; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kit was preceded in death by a son, William L. Walters; three brothers, Henry, Kenneth and Robert Buck; and two sisters, Marian Springer and twin sister, Arlene Belmont.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Pastor Richard DeMarte officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. Friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family provided the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of choice.
