June R. Booth

June R. Booth, 86, of Eagles Mere, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at her home.

Born Oct. 12, 1927, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late George D. and Ethel M. Thompson Kline. Her husband of 39 years, Edwin M. Booth Jr., preceded her in death on March 3, 1986.

June was a graduate of Hughesville High School, Class of 1946. Earlier in life, she was employed as a waitress at the Crestmont Inn and Sweet Shoppe in Eagles Mere. She and her husband owned and operated a gas station, grocery store and trucking company in Eagles Mere for many years. June also enjoyed selling Princess House and Amway.

June was a member of Kingdom Hall, Muncy, and served as a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den mother for many years. She enjoyed planting flowers, reading, crocheting and playing baseball in her younger years.

Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl A. Booth, of Muncy, and Tina M. (Brent) Moyer, of New Albany; two sons, Timothy L. Booth, of Hughesville, and Dale M. Booth, of Lock Haven; seven grandchildren, Brandy Barrantes, Kristie Weik, Jeremy Matlack, Lisa Breneman, Joshua Moyer, Aaron Moyer and Daniel Moyer; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by a son, Barry K. Booth; a sister, Roberta Peters; and two brothers, Glenn Kline and Merle Kline.

Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Wayne Moyer officiating. Burial followed in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends called from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
