Jeane Riegel Hauck

Jeane Riegel Hauck, 91, formerly of Muncy, Abingdon, Md., and Lakeland, Fla., died Tuesday Sept. 23, 2014, in La Grange, Ky., where she had lived for the past three years. She was born Jan. 16, 1923, in Catawissa, a daughter of the late Obel and Leila Welliver Riegel. February 12, 1942, she married the late Lloyd D. Hauck Sr., who died Oct. 23, 1996.

She was a former member of Radiant Light Assembly of God, Muncy. Jeane graduated from Bloomsburg High School, Class of 1940. She worked in Catawissa, Bloomsburg and Muncy as an office clerk and seamstress. Her hobbies included crocheting, bowling and singing in the church choir.

Jeane is survived by two sons, Lloyd D. (Patty) Hauck Jr., Stafford, Va. and Neil C. Hauck; three daughters, Sharon K. (Jerry) Reese, La Grange, Ky., Barbara S. (John) Dietz and Janet L. (Robert) Reese; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Franklin D. Riegel (Janice), Mifflinville.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, Jeane was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Rose Reese; four brothers, Harold, Charles (Lindy), John and Glenn Riegel; and a sister Mary (May) Craig; and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Hauck.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Radiant Light Assembly of God, 9565 Route 442, Muncy, officiated by the Rev. Adam Barnes. The interment was in the Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The family received friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, and 10 a.m. to the time of service at the church on Friday.
