Edwin C. “Ed” Bigelow, Jr.

Edwin C. “Ed” Bigelow, Jr., 60, of Muncy, died Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

Born November 24, 1953 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Edwin C. Bigelow, Sr. and Kathryn P. (Bower) Bigelow, who survives. On May 11, 1975 he married the former Roxanna Meuse, who survives. Together they celebrated 39 years of marriage.

Ed was a 1972 graduate of Williamsport High School and received his Associates degree from the former Williamsport Area Community College, now Penn College. He worked at the former Sprout-Waldon, now Andritz, Muncy and most recently as an Estimator at L&L Boiler Maintenance, Inc., Montoursville.

He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Montoursville

Ed was a lifetime member of the Muncy Creek Community Fire Company and a former member of the Duboistown Fire Company. Early in life, as a young boy scout, he was inducted into the Order of the arrow honor society. He continued his support for the boy scouts serving later in life as a cub master for his sons pack 24, Muncy. Ed loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the Pleasant View Hunting Club. He enjoyed NASCAR, listening to country music and watching cooking shows on television. Ed loved his grandchildren more than anything and enjoyed going to their fishing derbies.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are three sons and one daughter-in-law, Chad and Stacy Bigelow, of Muncy, Nathan Bigelow and Cindy Bayard, of Warminster and Kevin Bigelow, of Muncy; one daughter and son-in-law, LeSha and Matt Trostle, of Muncy; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Mark Bigelow, of South Williamsport and David and Jan Bigelow, of Alexandria, VA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeannie and Brad Upright, of Nisbet, Beth and Steve Bower, of Mifflinburg and Linda and Rick Cochran, of Williamsport; and 12 grandchildren, Emma, Aleaha, Avery, Owen, Anna, Stella, Kyle, Marley, Brayden, Evan, Nolan and Madden. Additionally, Kirstin and Kailyn Bayard.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by one sister, Pamela Bigelow.

Friends were received from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, at Faith United Methodist Church, 700 Fairview Dr., Montoursville and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the Church where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastors, the Rev. Larry Leland, Jr. and Pastor Rusty Wolfinger, officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions be made to either the Faith United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 700 Fairview Dr., Montoursville, PA 17754 or the American Cancer Society, Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

The family is being assisted by Grenobles, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
