John (Jack) R. Thorn Jr.

John (Jack) R. Thorn Jr., 74, of Muncy, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born Nov. 14, 1939, in Philadelphia, the son of John R. Thorn Sr. and Mary I. Leshak.

Jack was the husband of the former Mary Ann Fellows, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.

He was a member of the Muncy Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Jack was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Aug. 19, 1972, and was a long time elder. He and his wife enjoyed many years of full-time Bible education work together serving in New Hampshire, Vermont and Pennsylvania.

Jack retired from Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) in 1987 after 28 years of service.

Jack was a lifelong sports fan, especially of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his children, Elizabeth Ann, John III, Theresa, Catherine, Tracy, Susan; and 11 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends were invited to Jack’s memorial service on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Muncy Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2325 State Route 405 Highway, Muncy.
