William H. Campbell

Born Aug. 31, 1933, in Picture Rocks, he was a son of the late Clyde L. and Lillian C. Swisher Campbell. His wife of 52 years, the former Sally M. Bradley, preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 2006.
Bill retired from East Lycoming School District in 1995, after having worked there for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Marks Church, Lairdsville and Roaring Run Rod and Gun Club. Bill enjoyed woodworking, building and remodeling homes for his loved ones.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon L. (John) Ellis-Campbell, of Muncy; a son, James L. (Kim) Campbell, of Deer Park, Md.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, D.R. Campbell; and two sisters, Marian Bartlett and Evelyn Michael.
Bill could always be counted in all aspects of family life. The words in this tender poem describe the love and compassion that his family holds for him.
“Our Dad & Pop”
He never looked for praises
He was never one to boast
He just went on quietly working
For those he loved the most
His dreams were seldom spoke
His wants were very few
And most of the time his worries
Would go unspoken too
He was there – A firm foundation
Through all our storms of life
A sturdy hand to hold to
In times of stress and strife
A true friend we could turn to
When times were good or bad
One of our greatest blessings,
The man that we called Dad.
