Donna Jean Barto

Donna Jean Barto, 64, of Hughesville, lost her two-year battle with cancer, Oct. 24, 2014, at her home. She was born Sept. 15, 1950, in Muncy, a daughter of the late Robert Merrill and Wanda Ellis Baker, of Huntersville. Jan. 8, 1982, she married the late Wayne Monroe Barto, who died Feb. 21, 2014.

She graduated from Warrior Run High School, Class of 1968. She retired from SCI, Muncy, after 13 years as a corrections officer. Donna enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her mother, Donna is survived by a son, Christopher W. (Holly) Barto; step-mom, Shirley Merrill; sister, Linda Hopkins; brother, Fred (Linda) Merrill; three half-brothers, Terry (Stacey) Baker, Richard Merrill and Michael (Shirley) Merrill.
