Oct 28, 2014

MUNCY – A visitor to the state Correctional Institution at Muncy ended up facing a district judge after prison staff, with the help of a dog trained to detect narcotics, discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his car.

When Daryl Leroy Claypoole II, 26, of Butler, arrived at the prison on Route 405 in Clinton Township about 9 a.m., he allowed a corrections officer and a dog to search his car, according to court records filed by state police.

Claypoole was taken into custody after the controlled substance and some paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. Following his arraignment before District Judge Allen P. Page III, he was released on $10,000 bail.
