Rita M. Dugan

Rita M. Dugan, 83, of 132 New St., Muncy, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at her home.

Born Feb. 10, 1931, in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Egbert P. Sr. and Catherine (Rupert) Hall. She married Alan R. Dugan on Feb. 28, 1949. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death on Dec. 16, 2008.

Rita was a 1949 graduate of Muncy High School; she also graduated from Bloomsburg University. Rita was a former Bell telephone operator, employee of Dow’s Pharmacy and she also worked in the cafeteria at Ward L. Myers Elementary School.

She was a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, of Muncy. Rita volunteered as a driver for Meals on Wheels and she attended Muncy Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Vincent J., of Sunbury, Galen J., of Muncy, and Brian M., of Hughesville; a daughter, Cathie A. (Roger) Campbell, of Muncy; two brothers, Egbert P. Hall Jr., of Muncy, and John L. Hall, of Alaska; and two sisters, Margaret M. Markowitz, of Philadelphia, and Dorothy C. Whitmire, of Jamestown, New York. Rita is also survived by nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the convenience of the family. Interment was private in the Muncy Cemetery.
