Charles A. Barto
Charles A. Barto, 76, of Northumberland, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Sept. 1, 1938, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Eleanor A. Rothermel Barto. He and his wife, the former Jacqueline E. Middlesworth, celebrated 56 years of marriage on May 26, 2014.
Charles retired from Penn Reel as a Plastic Engineer in 2002. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Society of Plastic Engineers. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed fishing, shooting, woodworking, traveling and camping.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Angela E. (Blaise) Myers, of Northumberland; three sons, Charles S. Barto, of Northumberland, Michael A. Barto, of Hazelton and Matthew L. (Rebecca) Barto, of Selinsgrove; a sister, Carol A. Barto, of Spring, Texas; a brother, Gerald E. Barto, of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren, Christopher Hill, Daniel Hill, Keegan Myers, McKenna Myers and Logan Barto; and one great-grandson, Skyler Hill.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Pastor Jane L. O’Borski officiating. Burial followed in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. Friends called from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
