Mary Mocci

Mary Mocci, 101, of 57 Casale Rd., Cogan Station, formerly of Brooklyn, New York and Country Lakes in Browns Mills, New Jersey, died Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Gatehouse in Williamsport.

Born July 12, 1913 Torrecuso, Italy, she was the daughter of the late John and Consiglia Fiore. On May 10, 1941, she married Abbondio Mocci, who preceded her in death.

Following school Mary learned the trade of sewing and embroidering in Italy. She worked for fifty years in the garment industry of New York City.

She was a member of the Christian Church of Cogan Station, was extremely knowledgeable of the Bible and read it faithfully.

Mary was a courageous, hard working and strong willed lady. She enjoyed cooking, canning, embroidering and needlework. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, John and Jean Mocci, of Browns Mills, NJ; one daughter Rosa Maria Buongiovanni, of Cogan Station; three grandsons, John P. Mocci and wife Jennifer, Wayne Mocci and wife Robin, and Edward Buongiovanni; and two granddaughters Denise Wills and husband Harvey and Kimberly Baum and husband Mark. Also left to cherish Mary’s memory are her great grandchildren, Harvey, Adam and Ashley Wills; Drew Baum; and Giavanna, Anthony, Isabella and John Paul Mocci Jr.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Ennio Fiore; one sister, Antoinetta Bonnelo; and one son-in-law, Edward Buongiovanni.

Friends were received from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Living Hope Christian Church, 7000 Atrium Way, #7, Mt. Laurel, NJ, where a Christian Service was held at 12:00 p.m., with the Rev. Linda Wiles, officiating.

Entombment followed at the Locustwood Memorial Park.

The family provided the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Christian Church of Cogan Station, 5904 Lycoming Creek Rd., Cogan Station, PA 17728.
