Ruth A. Myers

Ruth A. Myers, 65, a resident of Watsontown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, in the Williamsport Regional Medical Center following a 20-year battle with diabetes and all of its complications. Born in Kelly Township, Union County, on Tuesday, March 15, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Steele) McWilliams.

Ruth was a 1967 graduate of Montgomery Area High School. She was last employed by Pardoe’s Perky Peanuts at Montandon and had previously been employed at the White Deer Run Treatment Center and Fred’s Restaurant in Montgomery.

Ruth enjoyed puzzles, shooting pool, playing bingo and cards, roller skating and spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Bower-Decker American Legion Post No. 251 at Montgomery and the Turbotville V.F.W. Ruth was so looking forward to Christmas and spending the holidays with her family.

She is survived by three children, Robert A. Myers III and wife Tiffany, Fort Mill, S.C.; Cathy and husband Chad Mecimore, Oak Island, N.C.; Scott Myers, Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Alexis Mecimore, Kara Mecimore, McKayla Mecimore, Avery Myers; one brother, Fred R. McWilliams, McEwensville; and her sister, Carol Zarr, Montgomery. Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard L. McWilliams and Carl R. McWilliams; and one sister, Betty J. Yohn.

Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, in the Green Lawn Memorial Park, 62 Route 54 Highway, Montgomery, with Chaplain Robin Steele, of the Celtic Hospice and Home Health, officiating.
