Arvilla Jane “Belle” Shadduck

Arvilla Jane “Belle” Shadduck, 90, of 215 N. Water St., Muncy, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born Feb. 9, 1924, in Karthaus, she was a daughter of the late Herbert J. and Ada M. (Jenkins) Rohm. She was the wife of the late Lionel E. Shadduck, who preceded her in death Oct. 12, 2011.

Belle was a 1941 graduate of Muncy High School and a graduate of the former Williamsport Technical School, now Penn College, where she studied shorthand and typing.

She worked as an office clerk for Sprout Waldron and Muncy Valley Hospital, later worked as a store clerk, at Deisroth, retiring in 1990.

Belle was a member of the St. Andrew Lutheran Church. She was a president of Beta Sigma Phi, Girl Scout and Brownie leader and a volunteer at Muncy Valley Hospital.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Dara Len and Terry Cronin, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Jo Dee and Tom Koontz, of Aledo, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Betty Rohm, of Camp Hill; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Bob Fritz, of Muncy; and two grandchildren, Jon Michael Koontz and Daniel Shadduck Cronin and his fiancee, Heather Klinar.

Friends were received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3 at Grenoble Funeral Home, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral was held at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Dr. Donald P. Edwards of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, officiating.

Burial followed in Muncy Cemetery.
