E. Wayne McClintock
E. Wayne McClintock, 81, of Muncy Valley, died Jan. 4, 2015, at his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1934, in Penn Township, Lycoming County, a son of the late Earl R. and Elva V. (Shoemaker) McClintock. June 21, 1958, he married Helen Mary Springer, who survives.
Wayne was a member of the Kedron United Methodist Church, Muncy Valley and graduated from the Sullivan County Highland School, Class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Army. He farmed his whole life and had an excavating business. Wayne was a member of the Muncy Creek Water Shed and the North Mountain Sportsman Association.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, Wayne is survived by four daughters, Cathy (Daniel) Barto, of Muncy Valley, Janice (Robert) Fink, of Gaithersburg, Md., Mary (Ronald) Poplillo, of Saylorsburg and Sally (Walter) Tallman, of Knightdale, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Max McClintock, of Muncy Valley.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Douglas McClintock; nephew, Robert “Bobby” McClintock; and a sister-in-law, Patricia McClintock.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, officiated by Pastor GayAnn Gearhart. The interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville where graveside military services were accorded by combined military organizations. The family received friends Thursday from noon till the time of service in the funeral home.
