Eleanor M. “Honey” Stetts

Eleanor M. “Honey” Stetts, 86, of Williamsport, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Gatehouse Hospice Center in Williamsport.

Born April 7, 1928 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Paul Sr. and Alice (Walter) Bower. On July 28, 1945 she married Frank A. Stetts II. Together they celebrated 69 years of marriage.

Honey attended South Williamsport Area High School. She was the co-proprietor of Stetts Store in Nisbet for 27 years.

Honey was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Parish in Williamsport and the former Ascension Parish in Newberry, where she was active with the Samaritans, a bereavement group. She was a faithful and active member of her church, serving as the Prayer Chain Coordinator for over 25 years and participating in Prison Ministry for over 25 years at the Lewisburg, Muncy and Allenwood facilities. Honey also served as a Eucharistic Minister.

She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, cooking and traveling. Honey could often be found in her flower gardens, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially attending their birthday parties and sporting events.

Honey was a wonderful wife and loving mother and always put others before herself. She supported many charities.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Cherie (Gary) Moyer of South Williamsport; five sons, Frank (Joy) Stetts III of Bastress, Lawrence Stetts of Williamsport, Ronald (Phyllis) Stetts of Vero Beach, FL, Joe (Judy Muldoon) Stetts, Mississauga, Ontario, and Robert (Barbara) Stetts, of Loyalsock; two sisters, Margaret Richmond and Theresa (Jim) Konkle; two brothers, Paul (Beverly) Bower and Charles (Shirley) Bower; 12 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her son, Michael Paul Stetts; a grandson, Travis Stetts; and a brother-in-law, Logan Richmond.

Friends were received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, where a rosary was recited at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 12 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Officiating was her pastor, Rev. Brian Van Fossen.

Burial followed in St. Boniface Cemetery, Williamsport.

The family provided the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or Susquehanna Health Foundation (Gatehouse), 1001 Grampian Boulevard, Williamsport, PA 17701.
