Mary E. Rupert
Mary E. Rupert, 71, of Hughesville, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.
Born Oct. 18, 1943, in Ralston. She was the daughter of the late Layfayette and Dora A. Raup Kulp. On June 28, 1963, at Sonily, N.Y., she married her husband, Elton D. Rupert, who survives.
Mary worked for Relda’s Apparel, and later retired from Brodart. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, fishing in Canada, puzzles, sewing, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lisa C. Rupert and Carol A.(Terry) Hoover, both of Hughesville; two sons, Elton D. Rupert Jr., of Hughesville and Michael J.(Liz) Rupert, of Midland, Mich.; a sister, Jane Neidig, of Lebanon; a brother, Jackson L. Kulp-Overdorf; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Temple, and a half brother, Danny Kulp.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Max L. Walters Jr. officiating. Friends called from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment was held in Mt. Zion Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
