Dorothy M. Minier
Dorothy M. Minier, 87, wife of the late Arthur J., to whom she was married for 53 years, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at the Muncy Valley Hospital, Skilled Nursing Unit. Arthur and Dorothy had three children, Rhea (Dale) Kepner, of Hughesville, Carl F. (Sally) Minier, of Montoursville and the late Rick W. Minier. Rhea and Dale gave them three grandchildren, Lori (Gary) Gibson, of Hughesville, who have two children, Kayla and Lane; Steven Kepner, of Hughesville with children, Ryan, Jason and Luke, and Sharon Kepner and husband, Christopher Edminston, of Clyde Park, Mont. Carl and Sally gave them three grandchildren, Tracie (James) Smith, of Cogan Station with children, the late Kierstin, Emilie and Noelle, Troy (Paula) Minier, of Montgomery, with children, Benjamin, Danielle (Rick Koch) and soon to be Alexis Rae, Troy (Veronica) Minier and their son, Carson.
In Dorothy’s younger years, she worked at Sylvania, Montoursville. Dorothy and J moved to Jackson, Wyo., in 1968 and after 20 years returned to the Hughesville area to be near family. She loved her family and was a terrific cook. She had a special friend, Eilene Dugan who introduced her to the Meck Senior Center, which she looked forward to going to. While in Skilled Nursing, she made many friends. Dorothy’s family is truly thankful for this connection in the last year of her life. Her family is grateful for the terrific care that she received.
The family wishes to invite her friends and family to the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, to share stories about Mom, during a viewing from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. A graveside service is being planned for the spring.
