Robert Lockwood Levan
Robert Lockwood “Bob” Levan, 91, of Williamsport, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at 7:34 p.m. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Lois M. (Robinson) Levan.
Born Sept. 9, 1923, in Montgomery, he was the son of Harry C. and Lydia M. (Tupper) Levan.
Bob was a graduate of Williamsport High School, and he served in the Army Air Corp as an aviation cadet, resulting in a lifelong love of airplanes. He worked as a tool engineer at Avco Lycoming for over 40 years. Bob was a Past Master of Ivy Lodge No. 397, and was a longtime member of Covenant Central Presbyterian Church, Williamsport, where he served as an Elder.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur L. and Eugene C. Levan.
The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Susquehanna Health Hospice and Hillside Assisted Living for their wonderful and loving care of Bob.
A memorial service to honor Bob’s life was held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at Covenant Central Presbyterian Church, 807 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Burial was in Elimsport Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport 17701.
