Francis C. Buck

Francis C. “Charlie” Buck, 86, of Montoursville, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 14, 2015.

Charlie and his wife, the former Sandy King were married 48 years. Born in Muncy, he was the son of the late Elmer Buck and stepmother, Lois Buck.

He was a decorated Korean veteran, bronze star recipient, former member of the American Legion Post 251, Montgomery, Hughesville Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Muncy Valley Moose No. 866 and the VFW of Muncy.

He was retired from Columbia Gas Works Co., Montgomery.

Charlie was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed going to softball games and just being a good husband.

Surviving are his wife, Sandy; three sons, Shawn (Stephanie) Buck, of Montoursville, Gale (Cathy) Buck, of Montgomery and Darren (Margaret) Buck, of Hughesville; daughter, Terri (Bob) McElrath, of Montgomery; also surviving is a brother, Elmer Buck and a sister, Joanne Gruver; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Charlie was preceded in death by his father and stepmother; two sisters, Judy Miller and Nancy Berryman; and a brother, Donn Buck.

The funeral arrangements were handled by McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.mcartythomas.com
