Paul Kenneth Schodt
Paul Kenneth Schodt, 91, of 184 E. Water St., Muncy, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his home.
Born February 13, 1924 in Muncy, he was a son of the late Dorothy Brown. On January 30, 1948, he married the former Marion R. Resseguie, who survives. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Paul served honorably in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Sprout-Waldron, where he worked as a shipping clerk for many years. Paul was a member of Sprout’s Quarter Century Club. Earlier in life, he worked at the former Robinsons Manufacturing Company.
Paul was a member of the Roland Ritter American Legion Post 268, Muncy, the Muncy Lodge #299, F & AM, and Loyal Order of Moose #866, Muncy Valley.
In his younger years, Paul was an avid walker.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth W. and Jacki Schodt, of Muncy; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda L. and Glenn Kurtz, of Linden; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Doris Schodt, of Crewe, VA; four grandchildren, Chad Kurtz, and his wife, Rhiannon, Eric Kurtz, Cory Bassler, Alicia Emery, and her husband Vince; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Bassler in 2006; a sister, Shirley Glidewell; and a brother, Carl.
Friends were received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral was held at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Jane O’Borski, pastor of Bethany United Methodist Church, Hughesville, officiating.
Burial followed in Muncy Cemetery.
The family provided the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.
