Florence I. Clayton

Florence I. Clayton, 85, of Adamsville, TN passed away Sunday March 1, 2015 at the McNairy Regional Hospital, Selmer, TN.

She was born in Muncy, June 19, 1929, a daughter of the late Leonard and Hilda (Minnier) Rishel. April 1, 1983, she married the late Earl H. Clayton, who died May 5, 2010. She graduated from Muncy High School, class of 1947. Florence attended the Solitude Freewill Baptist Church and retired from the former GTE Sylvania after many years of service. She loved jig-saw and cross word puzzles.

Florence is survived by a son, Thomas L. Andrews, Hughesville; a step-son, Todd Clayton, Unityville; three step-daughters, Joyce (Carl) Hampe, Muncy, Bonnie (Joel) Funston, Hughesville and Debbie Clayton, Williamsport; a sister, Ann Iseley, Pennsdale; two grandchildren, Nicole Riley and Brian Hill, two great-granddaughters, Jordan Riley and Kennedy Hill, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and her dog, Buddy.

In addition to her husband of 27 years, Florence was preceded in death by a son, Donald D. Andrews Jr. and a step-son, David Clayton. A sister, Carmen Ellis and an infant brother Thomas Rishel.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday in the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home 557, E. Water St., Hughesville, by Rev. Max Walters, Jr. The interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
