Barbara Louise Schultz

Barbara Louise Schultz, 86, of Hughesville, died Thursday, June 4, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, MT.

Born October 3, 1928 in Hughesville, she was the daughter of the late Lynda Catherine Price Bitler. On January 30, 1950, Barbara married the late Earnest Charles Schultz.

Barbara retired from GTE Sylvania after many years of service. She loved the beach, doing crafts, camping, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are four daughters: Colleen N. (James) Reed of Muncy, Elaine C. Schultz of Lairdsville, Susan L. (George) Nace of Roundup, MT, and Lynn M. (Gary) Wertman of Shade Gap, PA; two sons, Dennis L. (Jacqueline) Schultz of Montoursville, Barry E. (Leslie) Schultz of Ludington, MI; one sister, Betsy Charles of Hughesville; two brothers, Marlin Bitler of Picture Rocks and Ralph Bitler of Hughesville; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and mother, Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers, Roland and Raymond Bitler; and a grandson, Joshua Waltman.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11 at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, with Rev. Dan Cale officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. Friends called from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
