Arlene M. Peterman

Arlene M. Peterman, 86, of Picture Rocks and Muncy, passed away October 26, 2015 at the Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Muncy, following a lengthy illness. She was born December 22, 1928 in Muncy to the late George B. and Hazel I. (Sherwood) Craig.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Larry C. Peterman; her son, Lewis C. (Louise Clark) Peterman of Stamford, CT; two sisters, Janice E. English and Doris J. Holmes.

In addition to her parents, Arlene was predeceased by her brothers, Dale A. Craig and Gary L. Craig.

Arlene and Larry dated for four years, during which time, she waited for Larry through two tours in the Army before they married on February 6, 1951. Their relationship lasted for 68 years.

She was a lifelong member of the Muncy Baptist Church and Sonestown Legion Auxiliary.

Arlene was a member of the graduating class of 1946 from Muncy High School. She worked at Weldons, Glamorise, Montgomery Mills, and then as a housewife selling Avon from 1974 to 2012. Arlene was noted for her home canning, cooking, sewing, embroidering, and devotion to her family.

The funeral was held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 31, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, with Rev. Robert Rice, pastor of the Muncy Baptist Church conducting the funeral service. Friends called at the funeral home on Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial was in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Nordmont.
