William J. Keyser

William J. Keyser, 94, a resident of Pennsdale, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 in The Gatehouse at Williamsport, PA. Born in Chester, Delaware County, PA, on Friday, July 15, 1921, he was the son of the late William and Lucy (Wilkinson) Keyser.

Bill was the husband of Ruth (Whitacre) Keyser with whom he celebrated a 71st wedding anniversary on October 17, 2015.

He was a graduate of Widener University having received his degree in accounting. Bill honorably served his country during the Second World War as a B17 pilot with the U.S. Army Air Corp, having flown 35 missions from England over Germany with the Eighth Air Force. He was a retired reservist having attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Bill was a retired accountant.

He was a member of the Retired Officers Association and the West Chester American Legion Post 0134. Bill was a pilot, an avid fisherman and gardener, and enjoyed reading. After his retirement, he and his wife spent their summers on the Dokis Reserve on the French River at Ontario, Canada. Bill was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Linda and husband Gary Jones, Muncy, PA; David W. and wife Bonnie Keyser, West Chester, PA and one granddaughter, Nickolette Jones, Pennsdale, PA.

Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Keyser.

Services were held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Pennsdale Friends Meeting House.
